"Return to Limbang" tells the previously untold story of an event during one of Britain's many forgotten campaigns since 1945, which will appeal to anyone who appreciates a true gripping tale of the exploits of the ordinary serviceman. It will appeal especially so to those serving and ex-service personnel who have fought in the jungles of South East Asia of any nationality.

This tale is well-written and directed with stunning scenery shots, with a very good commentary pleasantly delivered by Major General Julian Thompson CB OBE that leaves the viewer in no doubt as to why the action was undertaken and the need for British and commonwealth troops to be operating in the area as a whole. It clearly demonstrates the ingenuity and bravery of the participants of 42 Commando Royal Marine and their readiness to forgive when finally confronting those that killed their comrades who they have remembered every day of their lives for the past 40 plus years.

The re-enactments are extremely and tastefully done using the correct weaponry and equipment of the day, the use of new and old film of the time blending well and harmoniously together. The comparison with recent re-enactments by other better-known companies becomes blatantly obvious to the historian and well-informed with regard to dress and weapons of the period in question.

This film for me is highly-recommend viewing and too good an opportunity to miss.
