Currently based in Dallas, Texas, Martin has worked in the industry for the last 14 years, mainly as an editor but also as a producer of several highly-praised documentaries, which have been shown on BBC, Discovery Channel, History Channel, and Discovery Networks. He has also worked on theatrical productions such as the X-Files.
Martin is British-born and has a passion for history. Before leaving the UK, he directed and filmed various wildlife documentaries, travel programmes for BSkyB and the Travel Channel, in addition to producing and directing documentaries for the British Army. Martin has worked on productions all over the world including Europe, Asia, South Africa and the Middle East. Since arriving in the USA, Martin has been heavily involved in High Definition Television projects.
Over the last 5 years he has written over 50 historical publications on Britain's post-war military history on the website Britain's Small Wars, owned and operated by Brush Fire Films, which has proved very popular with veterans and scholars of military history. The site contains over 1,500 pages covering all the conflicts Britain and her commonwealth allies have fought in since the end of World War Two, from the British withdrawal from India in 1948 to Britain's commitment to the War on Terrorism in 2002. The website now averages over 3,000 hits per day, 60% of which are returning visitors. The website is driven by veterans' accounts of these conflicts, backed up with in-depth historical analysis. The website is used and recognized by many leading military institutes and governmental organizations such as: The Pentagon, The British Military of Defense, The United States Army, The Malaysian Armed Forces, The British Imperial War Museum, and West Point Academy.
