The People's Place: The National Mall
The National Mall in Washington, DC is The People's Place - an area that was designed as a space for the people to be able to gather and enjoy.  "The People’s Place" will explore the history of how the National Mall was originally designed and created, to how it has grown and changed through the years. Through archival stills, unique aspects of the Mall's history will be explored from Washington landing where the Washington Monument currently stands, to the people who have molded the Mall over the years as well as how various marches have impacted the Mall as a place for people to gather.

Most people know of the major buildings, monuments and memorials, but what of the lesser known or unknown monuments and memorials? What does the future hold for OUR Mall? Does the Mall need to expand as it did in the early 20th Century to meet the needs of the 21st Century Mall?  What would Pierre L'Enfant think of the city that he designed? Is the Mall returning to his original design?
