After producing and writing two seasons of "Simply Beautiful," a health and beauty show for Veria TV, Jami came on board the Brush Fire Films team in 2007 as Production Manager for "The Genesis of Healing". She is now producer for two seasons of Brush Fire's reality fitness program "The First Step".
Jami's background is in journalism and public relations. She worked as a newspaper reporter and photographer, helped produce consumer news in Houston, and helmed media relations for a large film festival in Houston. Disappointed by the confinements of television news, she changed her focus to documentary production. She has edited several documentaries, including a short documentary about the growing problem of grandparents raising their grandchildren which screened at the Cannes Film Festival in 2006. Jami also edited "The Harp Tree," which documented two brothers' journey through Europe to trace the life and death of eight family members who were murdered during the Holocaust. "The Harp Tree" was partially funded by the Dallas Holocaust Museum and has screened nationally.
Currently she is finishing her full-length documentary, which she is shooting and directing, on the OV-10 with the OV-10 Bronco Associaton in Fort Worth. "OV-10: The Men, The Plane, The Mission" traces the life of the warbird through the eyes of the men who knew it. A shorter version of this documentary was her thesis film to complete her Master of Fine Art in Radio, Television and Film from the University of North Texas. Jami appreciates the assistance Video Post & Transfer has provided her by transferring almost 50 rolls of archival film for the documentary.
Her current obsessions include radio documentaries, cooking, taking acting classes in preparation for directing and writing her first narrative short film this year, reading magazines and medium format photography.
