Benjamin David Smith grew up traveling with the Ringling Brothers Circus and has worked in entertainment his entire life. After graduating cum laude with a BFA from the University of Memphis, with a concentration in sculpture, he borrowed a camera and shot his first short film. Ben hasn't picked up a chisel since.
Systematically, he learned every aspect of film production, from image acquisition to color correction. Ben is an accomplished editor, motion designer, and 3D animator, but at heart he is a director. In his spare time Ben completed the critically-acclaimed independent feature film The Right Questions, about a sociology student who pretends to be homeless. He is now in production on his first documentary feature about his father's circus act, The King Charles Troupe. |
