Father Vaneman
Stephanie Lim grow up in Limbang and know lives in KL. She recently got in touch with Bob "Dixie" Dean and told all about Father Vaneman who was one of the Dutch Catholic priests taken hostage by the TNKU in 1962. Father Vaneman stayed in Limbang after the rebellion. He made Limbang his home and sadly passed away two years ago. The picture on the below shows Father Vaneman standing next to the breaded 42 Cdo Padre at the 1963 unavailing of the memorial.
Father Vaneman was born in 1932, January 27 and Officially became a catholic priest when he was 25.  Father Vaneman came to Limbang before 1962 and was then settled down till he was called home by Lord! Fr. Vaneman was earlier on diagnosed with lung cancer thus the Bishop and church committee have decided to send him back to  his homeland.   According to my sister, he passed away few days before  September 11, 2001 at his homeland of Holland. He was the most respectable priest we had, warm and  friendly. He was just like a family and friend to all of us.
